Today is day two of my week-long challenge of being more intentional in my decisions. If you missed the first day you can go here Day 1
Today I said yes to my alarm. It goes off at 6:45 am and a lot of the time I hit snooze. Getting up with my alarm helps me to feel like I have made a good start on the day. Working on getting a consistent morning routine has been a goal of mine for a while. My end goal is to get up, have five minutes of meditation, set my three main goals for the day, and have a few minutes of quiet time. I want to be able to get up and get ready without rushing and feeling frazzled.
Being Intentional about family quality time is another priority of mine.
I told Cassidy no to going outside after dinner, Matthew and I were watching some shows we had on DVR. I felt kind of bad about telling Cassidy no, but in telling her no, I told Matthew yes. Watching certain shows is one of our things. Including more quality time with Matthew is another of my priorities. It seems like we hardly ever have any quality time together anymore. Having Cassidy was one of the greatest things that ever happened to me, but it did totally rock my world. You never get the saying having kids changes your life until you actually have one!
Having quality time with Matthew, Cassidy, as a family together, and also with our extended families. That in and of itself is a big feat. Trying to have that time with my family causes me quite a bit of stress. I want to have a good relationship with everyone, and note ever let people down.
Lesson learned today:
- Getting up on time and having a morning routine makes the day go better;
- I need to prioritize family time, especially time with Matthew.
- I want family time with everyone, however, I cannot be with all people at all times. Sometimes you have to decide who you need to spend more time with right now.
